Our women's ministry, known as Women In The Word, bring ladies from different backgrounds together to pursue God. We meet on the second Monday night of each month at FFC for a dinner and Bible Study.
Along with our Bible study we have other ministry opportunities that allow us to reach out not only to our community but to other parts of the country and beyond.
One of the ways we meet the needs of our community is through Benevolence Funding in which we provide help to families when there is a death, a birth or any other life event that a little assistance is needed. The Ladie's Group prepares food, taking it to the location designated by the family and stay to serve the meal. They also offer emotional and spiritual support.
Another great ministry opportunity that Women In The Word participate in is in the sponsorship of a cabin from the Church of God Children's Home in Sevierville, TN. Each year in November, our ladies President, Susan Young, will contact the house parents for the girls, asking for permission to sponsor one cabin of girls for the Christmas season. The children will each write out a Christmas wish list and send it to us. Thus far, God has enabled Women in the Word to be able to give each child in the cabin every gift on their wish list. Several of the ladies from Women in the Word go to the Children's Home to visit the children. We take them out for a nice dinner and then present them with their Christmas gifts. This is a very important and enjoyable ministry. We encourage all ladies to participate in this wonderful ministry.
The ladies raise money all during the year and during the Mother's Day program a special offering is taken specifically for the Children's Home. This is such a rewarding ministry to become involved in. To participate in this amazing ministry, contact Susan Young at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come be a part of this wonderful group of women enjoying food, fun, Bible study and an opportunity to make new friends while meeting needs of one another and to others where ever the need arises.
